Der Hase Henry und seine Wärme-Kuscheltier Freunde

Henry the Rabbit and his warm cuddly toy friends

A GREEN WOODPECKER bedtime story about Henry the rabbit, Bruno the bear and Sina the sheep How the warm cuddly toys were invented:

A little bear named Bruno lived in a big forest. He loved to walk along the forest paths, meadows and fields at the edge of the forest every morning. Especially in summer he enjoyed the first rays of sun of the day, which warmed him pleasantly. He enjoyed the sun so much that he often just lazed around on the wide meadows.

But Bruno the bear did not live there alone. His friends
“Sina the Sheep” and “Henry the Rabbit” often came to visit him. They had been best friends since spring and played together every day all summer. They loved playing hide and seek in the golden rapeseed fields.

But every beautiful summer unfortunately comes to an end. In October the days became shorter and the sun rarely appeared. The three friends could clearly feel that it was getting colder outside. Sometimes they came across children playing on the side of a rapeseed field. But the children also seemed to be cold because they were dressed warmly with jackets, hats and scarves.

So Bruno the bear came up with an idea: "Oh, how nice it would be if we could store the warm summer sun," said Bruno the bear, "then the children wouldn't have to freeze in the winter." "Oh yes, that would be nice. Human children don't have such thick fur as we do," answered Sina the sheep.

The clever rabbit Henry immediately started thinking: "There has to be a way!" he said excitedly and hopped quickly over to the mown rapeseed field. With his snub nose he sniffed out a few rapeseeds on the ground that were left over after the harvest.

"Feel it..." he said to Sina and Bruno, "the rapeseeds are very warm. They seem to be able to store the heat." Henry immediately went looking and collected all the rapeseeds he could find. He hopped away, fully packed. "I wonder what he's up to?" asked little sheep Sina. "We'll see. I'm going to sleep for today," answered the tired bear Bruno. The two said goodbye and went home.

But Henry the Rabbit was far from tired. He tinkered all night in his workshop in the rabbit hole. The next morning he set off to his friends to proudly show them his work. "Look..." he called and put his little pillow on the floor in front of Sina and Bruno.

The two astonished friends sniffed the unknown object. The sheep Sina asked, "Is that a pillow?" "Noooo," answered the rabbit Henry, "it's a pillow filled with the warm rapeseed seeds that I found yesterday. The seeds store the warmth of the sun. That way the children don't have to freeze in the winter."

"It's really nice and warm," Sina replied and Bruno immediately snuggled up to the warm pillow. "The children will love it," said Bruno the bear.

That was the day that the warm cuddly toys were created. Since then, every child can have a Henry, Bruno and a Sina at home to keep them warm during the cold months - until the natural rays of sunshine tickle their noses again.
