Durability and Disposal

What is a goat hair brush or horsehair brush used for?
A hair brush is used for the gentle care of babies' and toddlers' sensitive scalps. The extra soft bristles made of goat hair are perfect for fine hair, while the horsehair brush is ideal for thicker hair and curls. Both brushes gently massage the scalp and promote blood circulation.
From what age can the hairbrush be used?
The brush is ideal from birth. It can be used even for newborns, as the hairs do not irritate the sensitive scalp.
What advantages does a goat or horsehair brush have over a plastic brush?
Goat and horsehair brushes are anti-static and particularly soft. They prevent hair breakage and do not electrically charge the hair. Unlike synthetic bristles, they are free of plastics and microplastics.
How do I clean the hairbrushes correctly?
The brush should be cleaned regularly:
- Remove loose hair and dirt with a fine comb or your fingers.
- Caution: Please do not soak in water, as the wood may swell.
Is the brush suitable for babies with cradle cap?
Yes, but only for gentle care after soaking the cradle cap (e.g., with a little baby oil). The brush helps to carefully remove loosened flakes without irritating the skin.
What materials are the brushes made of?
The bristles of the brush are made of soft goat hair (light) or horsehair (dark). The handle is made of beech wood.
Is the hairbrush vegan?
No. As it is made of real goat hair or horsehair, it is not vegan, but it is produced in an animal-friendly way – the hair is obtained by shearing, without harming the animals.
How long does a hairbrush last?
With proper care, a hairbrush can be used for several years. However, it should be replaced if the bristles shed heavily or become discolored.
Can I also use the brush for adults?
Yes, the brush is also suitable for sensitive adult scalps, for example, with sensitive skin. Due to its handy size of approx. 3 x 4 x 15 cm (H x W x L), it is primarily suitable for babies and toddlers.
Until when do you use a baby hairbrush?
A baby hairbrush can be used as long as the child has fine, delicate hair and a sensitive scalp – usually until about 3 years of age.
However, many parents continue to use the brush beyond that, as it gently detangles the hair and cares for the scalp without pulling. As soon as the hair becomes stronger and thicker, you can gradually switch to a children's hairbrush with firmer bristles, e.g., our horsehair brush.
