Stroller muff, anthracite-grey

Our stroller muff provides warmth and ensures that your hands are dry and comfortably warm when you go for a walk. The muff is universally suitable thanks to the snap fasteners for fastening. We do not use Velcro fasteners that stick to clothing. The hand muff has a fluffy, soft inside made of organic cotton fleece and an impregnated outside.

This is what makes our stroller muff unique: Inside the muff there are two sewn-in pockets into which our disposable heat pads can be inserted. The heat pads provide up to 5 hours of additional warmth!

No complicated activation or charging necessary: ​​The filling of the disposable heat pads contains iron powder and activated carbon, among other things. This means that they heat themselves up within a few minutes when they come into contact with oxygen. The natural filling is 100% compostable*. This means we offer a natural and ecological alternative to similar products.

Application

It's time for a winter walk, because even when it's freezing cold or snowing outside, fresh air is important for babies and parents. With our stroller muff, your hands will stay comfortably warm and you'll save yourself the hassle of constantly taking gloves off and putting them on when your little one needs something.

Instructions for use:

Step 1

The GRÜNSPECHT hand warmers for single use are activated by contact with oxygen and heat up automatically within 15 minutes. To do this, remove the warmers from the foil bags (see picture 1) and knead well. ATTENTION: Please check the heat pads before use. Do not use if the contents of the heat cell are leaking and/or the heat pad is damaged or torn.

Step 2

Open the pushchair muff's snap fasteners by gently pulling on the fasteners. After waiting a few minutes and feeling the heat in the heat pads, slide one heat pad into the sewn-on pockets on the inside (plush side) of the pushchair muff. To do this, fold the heat pad slightly in the middle and slide it into the pocket. Then unfold the heat pad in the pocket again with your fingers so that the heat pad is fixed flat in the pocket. The slanted shape of the pockets prevents the heat pads from slipping out.

Step 3

Now place the stroller muff around the handle of your stroller and close the snap fasteners. The snap fasteners are positioned so that any raindrops can more easily run off the surface. Then push your arms into the two openings and nothing stands in the way of a nice winter walk. The side with the inserted heat pads should be on the top of your hands. (Tip: If the GRÜNSPECHT logo on the sewn-in label is facing upwards, you have put the muff on correctly.) After waiting for about 15 minutes, a pleasant warmth will have developed. If the heat development is insufficient, bring the warmer into contact with oxygen again. The stroller muff with the natural heat pads can be used as long as the warmth is perceived as pleasant. We recommend that you do not apply the heat to your hands for longer than 5 hours continuously. If you notice slight redness of the skin on your hands, this is due to the warming effect of the heat pads. If the skin is still red after a few hours, no heat should be applied until the redness has completely subsided.

The stroller muff made of 100% organic cotton is reusable and washable. The heat pads are only intended for single use and must be disposed of after use. Please note the care instructions and the disposal instructions under “Material and Care”. For further use, we recommend purchasing the GRÜNSPECHT hand warmers separately.

Care instructions:

The stroller muff made of 100% organic cotton is water-repellent on the outside and keeps you dry through the one or
other rain showers. However, frequent washing in the machine can reduce the water-repellent function. We therefore recommend washing the muff only when necessary and ideally on the wool cycle at 30 °C and a low spin speed.
DANGER!Please remove the heat pads from the insert pockets before washing!
Our tip: Use a laundry net for particularly gentle cleaning. Please store the packaged hand warmers in a cool, dry place, away from children, pets, moisture and direct sunlight. The hand warmers can be stored in the closed foil bag until the specified
Expiry date on the back of the foil pouch.

Disposal:

The GRÜNSPECHT hand warmers are intended for single use only. After use, they can be disposed of easily and in an environmentally friendly manner. Instead of the sodium chloride salt contained in many disposable body warmers, the GRÜNSPECHT "Natural Hand Warmers" contain potassium chloride, which is also used in plant fertilizers. Potassium serves as a plant nutrient, which is why the hand warmer filling can be disposed of in organic waste or compost after use and cooling down.
DANGER!Allow the hand warmers to cool down completely (up to 48 hours) before disposal to avoid ignition or burning. The heat pad cover becomes slightly permeable after cooling, which is why small particles of the heat pad filling can escape. Please dispose of the heat pad as soon as possible after cooling. After it has cooled down completely, knead the warmers with your hand. Then carefully open them at the narrow edge with scissors and empty the contents into the organic waste or compost.
DANGER!When disposing of the hand warmer contents, make sure to avoid direct mucous membrane contact with the filling – in the event of contact, follow the safety instructions.
We recommend using 2 hand warmer fillings per 10 liters of compost or organic waste to ensure sufficient dilution. When used in home compost, the number of hand warmers disposed of over a longer period of time should be a maximum of 9 per month (based on a study by Fraunhofer IME, 2019). Do not use the hand warmer filling on ornamental plants. The remaining elements of the hand warmers and packaging must be disposed of separately in household waste and fed into the appropriate recycling system. Please observe the regional disposal guidelines.
